The IB Diploma Programme requires three higher-level courses and three standard-level courses. At Semiahmoo, students are guided along three different pathways. These three suggested course combinations are organized into three different areas of study: Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, and Humanities. The three pathways are available here

In order to receive the IB Diploma, besides the recommended pathways, students must complete core elements - Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service Program, which are compulsory and central to the philosophy of the programme.
